I got caught out by Registry Australia from Melbourne with their blue renewal letters. They charge more to renew your business name than Registration in Sydney. I love having all my business names details in my account with Registration Pty Ltd – reg.com.au – a real Australian company.

    • Sue says:

I have one of these letters asking for $99 1 year or $180 for 3 years.
How do I know it’s legitimate? And where do I go to get a better price as I’m in QLd

      • Ted says:

Hi Sue, we use REGistration Pty Ltd – reg.com.au – as our ASIC Registered Agent. Been using them for years. Easy and reliable.

These warnings also need to be extended to paying $1000’s to accountants for the basic of the basic company set-ups (after getting advice thats all you need) when it costs a fraction of what they charge and takes 10 minutes. Registry Australia are not good for anything. If you have paid them you can do a bank dispute

My wife and I opened an ABN for a side project of ours and we got the same thing last year, bit cheeky and quite common apparently. Sadly, people who aren’t as savvy to this stuff by Registry Australia sending letters pay these sorts of scams…

Neil agree – the 5 star reviews are so obviously fake (not even Australian based). I reported this and no action. If trustpilot can’t catch these ones then they can’t catch anything more complex. So bottom line is trustpilot lacks trust. Not a useful product.

Hi Cole, I’ve had similar letters from Registry Australia come through. I assume they can mine public data from ASIC and then simply mass snail mail these out. They are too expensive. There are better and cheaper options out there. Straight to bin for me.

We have routinely recieved these at work, with the same letterhead as yours.

I recognise it as spam immediately, however one more than one occasion they have fooled people around the office. The way its worded has led to skepticism among directors when I explain it doesnt require action.

I agree that it is un-Australian at best. Especially as their owner is a thailand lady.
